The strength of goodness and kindness

Don’t let the unkindness of people wear you down, instead build upon the injustice, the cruelty to create a new structure that represents the significance  of  the strength of goodness,  and kindness and  their power over evil.

Grace within

Grace Within

We all have Grace within our spirit dwelling.

It is through adversity  that this loving Grace comes forth to heal us and others.

The bitter winds of hatred cannot withstand the spirit of  love, grace  and  kindness.

The Pandemic and our world view

The Pandemic  has changed our world view irrevocably . We are not the same persons we were two years ago.

We had  to disconnect from others and reconnect with other family members with whom we reside and with our inner selves.

In reconnecting with our inner self—to reclaim ourselves., we had to delve into that core that is our truly authentic self.

An example is  Alessia Cara, who like so many artists ,produced  incredible work during this period.

In our journey through the  Pandemic, we became more eccentric in travelling  our pathway to creativity  and in fashioning a new world transformed.

To honour International Women's Day

Don’t walk ahead of me and be above me. Don’t walk behind me and be below me. Instead Walk beside me and be my equal in heart, mind and spirit.

We are all intertwined...

We are irrevocably intertwined, interrelated... what we do to ourselves- we also do unto others. This is something we must acknowledge and honour every day of our lives. Acknowledging and honouring this is one of the many steps in moving towards caring dialogue and eventually to holistic leadership in the workplace.

The Olympic Spirit

In interacting with people in the workplace, the self-fulfilling prophecy often comes into play. If you believe it will happen, then often you will unknowingly create that situation with the result you expected.. This works both ways-- negatively and positively.. So try to work on the positive end of the spectrum. Thus, as in the Olympic Spirit that we see resonating daily-- if we believe we will, then we can !

International Women s Day March 8 th

International Women s Day - March 8 th,which is celebrating its one hundred- year anniversary, is dedicated to all women , warriors in pink, who fight discrimination based on skin colour, gender, culture , age, religion, educational and socio-economic status, their weight or simply the colour of their hair.

Instead of being divided, we have to be united in our battle for equal status in the workplace, and in the world.

As we honour this significant day and remember all those who fought so hard so we may observe it, let us make a promise to ourselves that we may never turn away from another woman in need- no matter the circumstances involved.

Holistic Employee Engagement

Holistic employee engagement is really about creating a positive influence on peoples behaviour.

This goal can be achieved through many of the following means:

1. Support them emotionally, within the context of workplace communications
2. Provide guidance and positive feedback for performance enhancement
3. Recognize good work publicly and openly
4. Demonstrate a commitment to honouring their views and opinions—ask for their perspectives and act on their workplace needs and wishes- what is needed to do their job
5. Work one- on -one in positive collaboration with employees on their work
6. Avoid too little or too much guidance
7. Avoid detailing to extreme measures about their respective projects
8. Avoid unconstructive feedback by addressing only the issue at hand—not all their past transgressions at once or vague comments that do not address specific work behaviours and performance..
9. Do not hold grudges—move forward each day in your attempt to engage them holistically

Building and Nurturing Harmony in the Workplace

Dr. Ian Prattis , founder of Friends for Peace Canada, who is a Zen teacher, speaker and writer about the well-being of the planet . He is a writer of articles for Guidelines to Recreate Our World based on the teachings of Zen.

He believes the source of peace in the world is a peaceful mind.

This also applies to the workplace. To create positive and collaborative workplace culture , you have to work on transforming the seeds of fear, anger that may be germinated by working on cultivating peace within its inner core.

Sometimes, such an environment can be nurtured simply individuals being a peace within themselves. Peace happens one step , one person, and one mind at a time. Yes, it can take internal work to achieve this... Some people can work towards this through meditation, Tai Chi, and Qi Qong and other programs that are starting in some workplaces to reduce stress and negative environmental issues.

Yes, it is possible to change the human mind set..

A Mantra for the Workplace

The reflection I wrote below is something I try to live by in all aspects of my life everyday. Possibly, you too can contemplate and exemplify it in your daily workplace.

"The depths of your beliefs about the world, yourself and others determines your pathway in life. The world and you , in essence, become what you believe."
